Online Applications > Shopping Cart
Web-commerce is the most recent addition to our family of Web-Portal products. It is a web-based e-commerce solution that enables you to deploy a wide variety of applications: online product catalog with a shopping cart, online store for selling services or paid membership subscriptions, inventory management, order and payment processing, shipping management and much more. With the addition of Web-commerce, Web-Portal becomes a complete solution for e-commerce portals.
Integration With Other Modules
Web-commerce is the money-making tool for your existing portal and community sites. It is designed to complement whatever features other Web-Portal modules have to offer with seamless online payments. We would like to highlight one of the most sought after module combinations – Web-commerce and In-link, the two modules that streamline creation of a directory with paid preferred listings. In-link’s Paid Listings feature, together with the Renewable Subscription feature of Web-commerce, allows one to create a directory site where members can purchase premium listings with just a few clicks. In-link has long offered preferential listing options (Editor’s Pick feature and Priority among them), but the payments had to be collected by some means outside of Web-Portal until Web-commerce was released. With its credit card processing feature, that supports multiple gateways and currencies, it is a snap to let the members buy premium listings right inside their Web-Portal My Account area.
Furthermore, Web-commerce enhances the Web-Portal’s powerful permission structure, by providing paid memberships to any user group of Web-Portal. Membership in a group, combined with properly configured category permissions, allows your portal site to offer a wide array of services – from differentiated content (one set of articles for guests, and another set for paying members) to paid downloadable content (a restricted In-link category with links to the downloads) to privileged forum members (who are able to post images, or make their threads sticky, for example).
Online Store
Of course, the central features of Web-commerce, which work independent of other modules, are its extensive product catalog and shopping cart capabilities. Web-commerce streamlines all aspects of operating an online store – from promoting the products in the catalog (with featured items, simple and advanced search, grouping by manufactures, etc) to simple, yet flexible checkout procedures (with support of guest vs. registered user checkouts, real-time shipping quotes, a variety of payment options, etc) to powerful administrative features (shipping management, tax calculations, real-time currency exchange rates, and many more).
Web-commerce helps many existing portal sites benefit from selling various merchandise– from branded T-shirts and coffee mugs to high-tech electronics.
